On mobile the sidebar shows an open/close caret, but tapping it doesn't work properly: only the caret icon rotates, the sidebar itself never opens or closes.

Steps to reproduce

Open the app on a mobile viewport.
Tap the sidebar's open/close caret.

Expected: the sidebar expands/collapses along with the caret.
Actual: only the caret rotates; the sidebar state doesn't change.
